In 1972, BJORN ROHDE, was born in a little village in the North of the Ruhr Area/Germany.
His passion for music began at an early age. His favourite sound makers in electronic music in the early eighty's, were Mike Oldfield, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The Art of Noise, Kraftwerk, The KLF, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and many more.
In the beginning of the nineties, he bought his first hardware Synthesizer, a Roland JD800. During this time he was playing and recording experimental electronic music in his small home studio.
In 1992 the electronic music brought him to the new music genres Techno/Trance style. He began to work as a DJ in the Ruhr Area underground scene.
During this time, his sound was affected by the greatest artist of Techno/Trance music like: Sven Vaeth, Energy 52, Ralf Hildenbeutel, Jam & Spoon, DJ Dag, Stevie B-Zet, Emmanuel Top, DJ Taucher, and many more.
His favourite Record Labels during this time were: Harthouse Rec., Eye Q Rec., Djax Records, Noom Rec, Le Petit Prince, Tresor Records.
The audience loved his deep & drifty sessions. At the end of the nineties, he did a long creative break. Since the end of 2000 he is back with new inspirations and ideas.
He discovered the world of ambient and ambient dub stuff made by by Aural Float, Fresh Moods, Full Moon Fashions, JFC, Rauschfaktor, ÜNN, Ruxpin, Saafi Brothers and others. 2006 he was rediscovering the good old style of PROGRESSIVE HOUSE. Since this time he is playing "wonderful freaky deep progressive-tech-house" tracks for all aficionados of electronic dance music worldwide.
Since his first contact of electronic music he's developing his own style in a progressive way.
BJORN ROHDE is also well known for his wonderful ambient dub sets on TIMEOUT sessions broadcasted at friskyradio.com
In the mid of 2007, he launched his own Podcast "SATELLITE FM" on satellitefm.de.
In the beginning of 2008 he launched two resident DJ shows called DEPARTURE at sense.fm & FRESH MOOD at globalbeats.fm.
July 2008 - BJORN ROHDE was invited to be the "ARTIST OF THE WEEK" at the biggest Progressive House online radio station friskyradio.com. He was breaking his own listener record with 2200 listeners.
