I started DJ'ing in the mid eighties by way of the whole hiphop and breakdancing craze that was taking place then. My friend Shawn Davis (DJ BASS) had a mixer and a turntable and I had records & another turntable that we got together so we could rock little basement parties on the army base in El Paso, Texas where we lived at the time. Back in the "day" we used to mix with belt driven tables, a radioshack mixer and we even mixed in tapes if we needed to. My how things have changed!
Living on the army base was great when I was growing up because we met alot of other kids who brought music and mixtapes from all over the world allowing me to hear and be influenced by DJ's like RED ALERT of New York, THE WIZARD aka Jeff Mills of Detroit and JULIAN JUMPIN' PEREZ of Chicago's hot mix 5, to name just a few.
When I was old enough I began to frequent nightclubs in El Paso, Juarez, Mexico & Dallas and later began DJ'ing in some of those very clubs. Next came the raves & techno and my involvement in some of El Paso's very first "underground rave" events. I was hooked from the start & became a clubber with a lifetime membership.
In 1994 I moved to Dallas, got involved with the rave/club scene here and dj'd at many events locally as well as in New Mexico, Washington State and Oregon. These days I'm collecting studio gear & working on producing my own music along with DJ'ing everywhere I can.
