Sam Red has always had an intense passion for music which brought her to the club scene as a passionate clubber from a very young age. Her music taste has ranged from hard-house to techno, progressive to deep-house and everything in between. More recently, now that her hard dance days are over, Techno and Tech-house are her main musical influences having had inspiration from dj’s like Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Danny Howells, Tom Budden and Claude Von Stroke.
Dj’ing has always been something this aspiring female hot-shot has wanted to do and going to so many events with so many great dj’s she finally got her own set of decks and started buying vinyl and mixing herself.
In June 2007 came her first gig where she played her unique blend of minimal techno and tech-house to a crowd that really appreciated her distinct new sound. More gigs kept following and a few months later she landed her first residency for “Voodoo Dolls” @ Club Mango in Reading which boasts a female-only line-up.
Within her few months of playing she has now showcased her musical talent alongside names such as Lisa Lashes, John O’Callaghan, Fred Baker, King Roc, Tania Von Pear, Rick Maia, Sara G, Filthy Funk Funk, Abigail Bailey and many more.
The future looks bright for this up and coming female star. She has already guested at top nights such as Prologe at Scala, Pushca, Gifted, Qudos, Shameless and Bar Cuba and bookings have been coming in thick and fast.
The next step in her musical journey is production which she is already begun having a go at. With a wide range of tools in her home studio set up, her first release is imminent.
Her current sound ranges from uplifting tech-house to bouncy minimal techno and anything in between.
