Recorded in August of 2006, this is a sampler of originals I wrote and a remix or two, plus some remixes of my tunes by others. Many of the versions appearing in this set are pre-release versions that were not yet finished, or are unreleased altogether. Contact me if you have a label and are interested in the unreleased tracks, or if you'd like to license any of the tunes (any mix; not just the one appearing in this set) for your compilation.
Tracklist: (One-click Find on Beatport)
01. Funklamentary (Original) [Onethirty] - Shawn McClain playing the sax, this one was heavily influenced by Da Sunlounge
02. Do You (unfinished Origianl sketch) [unreleased] - this has come a long way since this version, you should hear us do it live!
03. Something Inside (Spur of the Moment Mix) [Onethirty] - a collab w/Jevne; giving each other parts & making different mixes
04. Funklamentary (Down2Business Spunklafur Mix) [Onethirty] - my Inland Knights influenced remix of my original, lol!
05. Aaron Roberts - Soul It as Funk (Spur Remix) [Onethirty] - sounds quite a bit different from Aaron's original
06. Space Cowboy (Original) [unreleased] - this is looking for a label. It has extensive use of processed acoustic guitar.
07. Turn On ft. Jennifer Grimm (Spur pre-release Mix sketch) [Celebrity] - wrote the vocal for Chuck Love to his specifications: "more like Lisa Shaw"
08. Share It ft. Jennifer Grimm (Original) [Large, unreleased] - while my mix is not released yet, Chuck Love's mixes are available in promo currently on Traxsource .com
09. Identify ft. Nathan C (Spur mix) [Somatic Sense, Armada, unreleased] - another example of selling a song to a label but not my mix, this was a collab w/prog producer Peter McCowan, my partner in The 49th Line. We also produced "Blue on Blue ft. Jennifer Grimm" which was internationally successful and widely supported by trance and prog jocks for a minute. I sing in this one, and it was recorded around the time I wrote and sang "Drift Away" [SOG] which Paul van Dyk called "Tune of the Season." This marks the start of the trancier side of this set, haha.
10. Lexi Bounce [unreleased] - this sketch is waiting for me to write a vocal, probably for Jennifer. It was inspired by Gabriel & Dresden's remix of "I'll Be There for You" by Weekend Players.
11. Blue on Blue ft. Jennifer Grimm (Espen Vocal mix) [Team Toad, Armada, Sony/BMG] - my favorite remix of one of my biggest tunes to date, written for Peter McCowan and introducing our alias, The 49th Line
12. Ascension (Original) [unreleased] - produced when I was working with The Cynic Project, I should have let it play longer because it's an 11 minute track! This is the oldest sketch in the mix - we have travelled "back in time" in my mind. Home you enjoyed it!
